Soundscapes and Aural Architecture –
Better use of positive sound?
Better aural architecture was explored through a collaboration between the Institue of Acoustics (IOA) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), at the RIBA HQ on 20 February 2008. Acousticians, landscape designers and aural artists teamed up with architects at the RIBA to share experiences, and explore the next steps towards more positive acoustic design.
This event marked a fantastic start to the IOA efforts to actively collaborate with other institutes, to stimulate debate on an integrated approach to design, inside and outside buildings. By teaming up with the RIBA we considered our current experience, and what the next step should be for better Aural Architecture.
