Welsh Branch Day Meeting
WHO Environmental Noise Guidelines 2018 & Possible Implications for
Noise Planning Policy in Wales Presentation by Dani Fiumicelli, Temple Group
Thursday 12 September 2019
10.30am for 11.00am start: 1.00pm Lunch Break: 3.30pm finish (approx).
Henstaff Court Conference Centre,
Llantrisant Road, CARDIFF CF72 8NG
This meeting aims to bring together the main parties – consultants, planners and EHO’s to review implications of the latest WHO guidelines for planning policy in Wales, particularly bearing in mind the upcoming replacement of TAN 11.
Dani Fiumicelli worked as an EHO for 16 years before moving on to work as a consultant in the private sector in 2002. He is currently Technical Director (Acoustics) at Temple Group. His current workload is split approximately 50/50 between private and public sector clients.
Dani chaired the working party that wrote ProPG Planning & Noise that superseded PPG24 in England in 2017. PPG24 was virtually identical to TAN 11. Dani is therefore in a unique position to explain the thinking behind the potential weaknesses of PPG24/TAN 11, and the reasoning behind ProPG guidance in England. He has also recently given presentations at Institute of Acoustics and Association of Noise Consultants conferences on potential implications of the WHO 2018 Environmental Noise Guidelines.
There will be a Q&A session to follow
The meeting is open to Consultants, EHO’s & Planners. With limited space (and food to order) advance registration is recommended. Registration closes at 6pm on the 24th August 2019 and the page can be accessed at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/ioa-welsh-branch-15985248910
