Blane Judd FCGI CEng FIET Engineering Manager of the Institute of Acoustics
Wednesday 29 July 2020
12:15pm – 1:00pm
Online meeting via IOA Zoom
The Institute of Acoustics is one of several professional bodies licensed by the Engineering Council to register members as professional engineers. Acoustical engineers work in fields as diverse as acoustic material manufacturing, acoustic signature recognition and reduction, active noise and vibration control, aerospace engineering, architectural acoustical design, enclosure and sound attenuator design, loudspeaker design, measurement and analysis instrumentation, sonar systems, speech recognition, mobile telephone design, vehicle noise control and vibration isolation. Through our Engineering Division, suitably qualified and experienced engineers may gain this internationally-recognised award.
In October 2019, Blane Judd, Engineering Manager of the IOA, presented to the IOA Central Branch on the route to becoming a registered Engineer along with some practical experience from a recent IOA member who had been through the process. The meeting was recorded and is available to view online at https://vimeo.com/376142101/d286aa3a2e. Blane has kindly agreed to provide a lunchtime CPD registration Surgery for the IOA Midlands Branch via Zoom for members to have a chance to ask any outstanding questions they have about how to become a professionally registered engineer with the Engineering Council.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to view the recorded presentation prior to the meeting.
For those who cannot attend but are interested in becoming registered, you can express an interest by sending an email to acousticsengineering@ioa.org.uk.
Attendance is free, however, places are limited so please pre-register on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/112993841622.
Zoom login details will be circulated to all registered attendees the day before the meeting, if you are a member you can access the zoom login details at https://www.ioa.org.uk/midlands-branch-29-july-2020
