In 2024, the Institute of Acoustics organised the successful ICUA conference in Bath.

The many advances in the field of underwater acoustics since then make it appropriate to hold another international conference to discuss the latest research and applications.

We look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from all over the world to present their latest research.

The conference, which is taking place at the University of Strathclyde, is in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre with a dynamic mix of stunning Victorian architecture, superb shopping on Buchanan
Street, buzzing bars, and a thriving arts scene. Whether you are exploring iconic galleries, enjoying live music, or sampling top-notch cuisine, Glasgow offers the perfect blend of culture, creativity,
and warm Scottish hospitality. The University of Strathclyde is a leading international university located in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. Founded in 1796, it’s known for its strong focus on innovation, research, and practical learning. With a diverse student population, Strathclyde offers top-ranked programs in engineering, business, science, and humanities, and is home to cutting-edge facilities like the Technology &

Prospective authors for both papers and posters are invited to submit a title and a maximum 300 word abstract by 31 January 2026.

Authors will be notified by 26 February 2026 and invited to submit a full paper by 29 April 2026.

Completed papers may be up to 8 pages long, including diagrams. Papers will be reviewed. Papers will be stored and freely available on the IOA website library.

Bus

  • Buchanan Bus Station is 0.6 miles away, with frequent services to Glasgow International Airport.
  • A direct bus connection to Glasgow International Airport is also available from North Hanover St, outside Queen St Station, every 15 minutes. This is about an 8-minute walk away and the single fare is approximately £10.00. Depending on traffic, the journey time is around 20 to 30 minutes.

Full payment must be made by credit/debit card at the time of registering. Cards accepted are VISA, Visa Debit and MasterCard we can’t accept American Express or Maestro.

On receipt of your registration, a confirmation email and receipt will be sent automatically. If you have not received this within 5 working days of registering, please contact the Conference Organisers by emailing sheema.ali@ioa.org.uk 

Cancellation Terms

Cancellations made before 29 February 2026 will be refunded

Cancellations from 1 March 2026 till 31 March 2026 are non-refundable unless there are extenuating circumstances.

REGISTRATION

The registration desk will be located in the TIC foyer area and will be open from 1600 till 1800 Monday 15 June 2026, and from 0800 on Tuesday 16 June 2026 through to Thursday 18 June 2026 (during conference hours).

SPEAKER PREVIEW

You will be required to send your presentation in advance of the conference. If you have amended or updated your presentation you should bring your presentation to the Speaker Preview as soon as possible, at the start of the day or in any of the refreshment or lunch breaks. The Speaker Preview will be located in the TIC foyer.

BADGES

For security, please wear your names badge at all times. Your badge can be collected at the registration desk on arrival.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Certificates of Attendance will emailed to delegates after the event 

WI-FI

There will be complimentary Wi-fi available at the venue.

PHOTOGRAPHY, FILMING & MOBILE PHONES

Please note that all photography and filming is prohibited in any of the conference sessions.

Mobile phones should be placed on ‘silent’ during the conference sessions.

There will be a conference photographer taking pictures during the conference.
