Crossmodal correspondences are often surprising general associations people make between seemingly unrelated attributes of different sensory modalities. For instance, large objects tend to be associated with low pitch, and small objects with high pitch. In this presentation, Qian Janice Wang will talk about how people make crossmodal correspondences between auditory and flavour attributes: what they are, how we might form them, and how they can influence the way we perceive food and drink.

The presentation will include a taste test for wine and chocolate, so please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements once you have registered.
