AVIATION NOISE: KEY DEVELOPMENTS
THURSDAY 11 MAY 2017
THE ROYAL SOCIETY, 6-9 CARLTON HOUSE TERRACE, LONDON SW1Y 5AG
Introduction
At the beginning of last year, the IOA ran a meeting on the Next Steps for UK Aviation Acoustics Industry following the Airports Commission’s Final Report. Since this time there has been some additional key developments, including the Government announcing its support for a new runway at Heathrow, planning permission to end the Cranford agreement. There is also a plethora of key consultations currently active including those relating to UK Airspace Policy, Independent Commission on Civil Aviation Noise (ICCAN), Draft Airports National Policy Statement (Heathrow), Night Flight Restrictions at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, and on an CAA’s Airspace Change Process. So what are these consultations about? And is there any current research that could help inform discussions around these consultations? This one-day meeting organised by the Environmental Noise Group aims to tackle these questions and promote discussion of the key issues.
