Christie & Grey aim to provide an insight into vibration isolation centering around power generation and the usefulness of looking beyond a single degree of freedom. After looking briefly at six degrees of freedom as a step on from single degree of freedom systems, the presentation will move through several projects highlighting issues found and how these were resolved, these include a brief look at torsional frame resonances and a more in-depth look at when introducing higher deflection mountings resolves potential structural concerns.
By presenting resolutions it is hoped that the attendee will see what could go wrong and how to avoid the same issues when specifying generator mountings. The presentation will also briefly look at a seismic installation, as well as introducing sectors in which Christie & Grey also operate outside of UK generator installations.
