This presentation will run over established vibration theory and the reasons why the results actually achieved can differ. Simple design practices can lead to better and more consistent results. This talk will include case studies and examples relating the theory to practical advice, including roof top equipment such as heat pumps, structural isolation of lateral forces such as wind, and impact on suspended slabs.

A short Q&A will follow the talk.

Adam Fox is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Director at Mason UK. He has over 20 years’ experience of vibration control engineering and has supported a diverse range of projects including defence, architectural, structural, and mechanical applications. He has particular interest in technically challenging projects, when it is necessary to communicate good design practice from an early stage. Adam is a regular contributor to industry conferences and supports events which promote acoustic engineering to a wider audience.
