Funding requirements, Scottish Government strategy, Scottish Building Regulations and best practice are moving the construction industry towards all electric, Passivhaus standard building model. Matt will look at what Passivhaus offers, what it means for construction and offer lessons learnt from completed projects. For this seminar, he will try to draw out the areas where acoustics have been impacted, either positively or negatively and discuss how we can adapt to ensure high performance buildings.
Matt Bridgestock is a founding director of Sussed Sustainability. Sussed is a joint venture company established between John Gilbert Architects, Holmes Miller and Armila Sustainability, and which focusses on the sustainability agenda of public sector buildings, and informs clients on briefing, building performance, low carbon considerations and post occupancy evaluation. Matt is a Passivhaus designer with over 15 years’ experience in the design and specification of low carbon and Passivhaus projects. Alongside a significant number of successfully certified projects he is currently overseeing £300m of school, leisure (including swimming pools) and residential projects, all aiming for Passivhaus or net zero carbon status.
