About the Talk
Why have the answers gone up?! This talk takes a look at the new (2024) version of ISO 9613-2, the key changes since the previous (1996), and a deeper look at the main situations where the new standard gives notably different result to the previous version. We'll look at actual modelled examples of these situations, see an accessible overview of some of the underlying maths to understand why the differences occur, and review the completely new annexes relating to wind farm noise and chimney stacks.
About the Speaker
Andy is an Associate Acoustic Consultant at AECOM. He has 18 years' experience in consultancy, with particular focus on environmental noise modelling and large infrastructure projects. He has always been keen to understand why the noise models do what they do, and enjoys the challenge of communicating acoustic concepts in an easy to understand and accessible, so the opportunity to talk about ISO 9613 seemed perfect.
