Our May event will be a half day in-person event on Sustainable Construction. We are in a climate emergency and, in this event, some of our colleagues will be sharing the work they have been doing to address this and contribute to make the acoustics industry a bit more sustainable every day.
This meeting will be held at KP Acoustics Research Labs, Oregon House, Brunel Road, Calmore Industrial Estate, Calmore, Southampton, SO40 3WX. The presentations will also be streamed and recorded. Please register using the relevant option to be kept up to date and so we have the right numbers for lunch.
Lunch will be provided. Please email reena.mahtani@stantec.com with any dietary considerations before 6th May 2025.
As always, the event is free to members of the IoA, as well as to students and the public. CPD certification will be offered for attendance, wait for the QR code that will be shown/shared at the end of the presentation.

There is an attachment with directions available on this page, but additional instructions below.
The easiest way to travel is by car – we have plenty of free parking spaces available. We are to be found just off Junction 2 of the M27. Turn off the motorway onto the A326 and then take the first exit towards Totton. Just follow the signs for Calmore Industrial Estate. Once on the estate road, we are one of two units on the left just after the entrance to Testwood lakes.
Please do not park in the spaces labelled ‘Rigging Projects Ltd’, but only in ones directly in front of or to the side of our unit.
In terms of public transport the bus service in and out of Southampton is good – there are around 5 buses an hour, and you can find details on this link: https://www.bluestarbus.co.uk/explore?center=50.929642%2C-1.498106&zoom=15.12 You would get off the bus around Testwood Baptist Church and it is a 5 minute walk up to our building via Nutsey Lane.
