The Measurement and Instrumentation group of the IOA are holding another of their much heralded and now famous (should that be infamous?) ‘Ask the Instrumentation Expert’ panel session on Wednesday 3rd September at 5pm, via the magical medium of Zoom. You will have direct access to leading measurement practitioners and experts from many of the sound and vibration equipment manufacturers, all steeped in the dark art of instrumentation wizardry. Get your questions in early to ensure a prime spot!
We want to make this session as broad as possible, so please send in any instrumentation or measurement queries or questions, so the panel can find the best way to help. Maybe you are baffled by the options for tonal analysis or befuddled why you can’t get a 1 second L90. Perhaps the finer points of frequency analysis leave you wondering or are you unsure if ground born vibration is really a science or black magic? For the best answers, please send your questions in advance to give the panel time to look it up on Google!
You can be as specific or open ended as you like in your question and it doesn’t matter if it is something to help you with a current task, a general point of interest or just something that has been bothering you for ages! In our now vast experience of these events, no question is too small, too large, or too stupid, and all will be gratefully received
Your Questions
You can send your questions in advance, or you can pose them on the day via the chat feature in Zoom. Topics can be anything you like but may include interpreting standards, explanation of a particular parameter or pretty much anything else around the topic of measurement and instrumentation.
The session will start with a brief presentation from John Shelton stalwart of the IOA measurement and instrumentation group, followed by an introduction to the panel and a question-and-answer session, chaired by Simon Bull, who will guide the session until time or questions run out!
Event Details
If you would like to submit your questions in advance by Monday 1 September 5pm , please send them to sheema.ali@ioa.org.uk
