About the presentation:
The Etihad Rail Passenger Stations Project is a key infrastructure initiative designed to develop an integrated rail network across the UAE, connecting major cities and regions. This presentation highlights the design and consultancy work for three key stations: EXPO Station (Dubai), FUJAIRAH Station (Fujairah), and MBZ Station (Abu Dhabi). The project progressed through multiple design stages—ranging from concept design to IFC documentation—and included comprehensive acoustic consultancy services. These addressed building acoustics, noise control, and vibration management. Challenges such as language barriers, design changes, and coordination with other consultants were met with strategies focused on clear communication, scope definition, and strong documentation practices. The project underscores the importance of collaboration, professionalism, and proactive problem-solving in large-scale infrastructure developments.

I’m Monika Pachla, a Senior Acoustic Consultant at Cundall with nearly six years of experience delivering projects across the Middle East and beyond. With a background in civil engineering and acoustics, I’ve worked across a diverse range of sectors—from railways and schools to hotels and offices. Being part of a multidisciplinary consultancy means I’m always collaborating closely with other teams and tackling the unique, on-the-ground challenges that come with working in this region. I enjoy most being hands-on in solving those challenges through thoughtful engineering and consultancy.
