The Southern Branch invites you to a presentation of the new prediction standard for railway noise. We are joined by a trio of experts from ISVR, HS2 and the Rail Standards and Safety Board, who are members of the working group.
The BSI transportation noise committee is overseeing the development of a new four-part prediction standard for calculating noise from road and railway sources in Great Britain. It is intended for the standard to replace Calculation of Road Traffic Noise and Calculation of Railway Noise. In this presentation you will find out more about the background to the development of the standard as well as recently completed work funded by the RSSB concerning the technical proposals for the part of the standard relating to Calculation of Railway Vehicle Sound Power Emissions.
As always, the event is free to members of the IoA, as well as to students and the public. CPD certification will be offered for attendance, wait for the QR code that will be shown/shared at the end of the presentation.
