Southern Branch Evening Meeting
Predicting and Controlling Noise from High Energy Impact
Adam Fox (Mason UK) and Martin McNulty (Hoare Lea)
Thursday 24 May 2018 - 6.00pm for 6:30pm start
Farnborough College of Technology, Boundary Road, Farnborough, GU14 6SB

The Southern Branch of the IOA invites you to join us on a presentation by Adam Fox (Mason UK) and Martin McNulty (Hoare Lea) about noise from high energy impact.

“Controlling noise resulting from impact in new and existing structures is a long-standing problem. The most common sources being gymnasia free weight zones and treadmills, it is difficult to quantify and to be confident of the best control measures. Physical testing carried out by Salford University has formed the basis of efforts by Mason UK and Hoare Lea to understand the problem. This talk looks at the results of the research, discusses what was learned and how the information can be used to inform project work.”

The presentation will be followed by a discussion at a local curry house.

The event is free to members of the IoA, as well as to students and the public. As numbers are limited, to register for this event, please go to the registration page at:
