Electromagnetic forces can be a major source of unpleasant noise in electric machines. The presentation focuses on understanding how magnetic noise and vibration are generated. The process to identify the root cause of the noise issue is addressed based on tests and simulations. Illustrations in automotive applications and examples of design optimizations under Manatee software are provided. Finally, impact on sound quality is assessed based on Mosqito tool.

EOMYS ENGINEERING is a company providing applied research services in electrical engineering and vibro-acoustics.

EOMYS combines analytical and numerical modelling activities, scientific software development and experimental measurements to analyse and solve electromagnetic noise and vibration (e-NVH) issues. EOMYS also develops and distributes MANATEE software dedicated to e-NVH, and provides technical training.
