London Branch Hybrid Evening Meeting
Design of Floating Floors Using Recycled Elastomers: Reducing Embodied Carbon
Presentation by Tim Patzke, Pliteq UK
Thursday 14 March 2024 at 6pm to 7pm
At AECOM, 16th Floor, Aldgate Tower, 2 Leman Street, E1 8FA

Abstract

The presentation will start by covering the basics of the floating floor design process, followed by how to identify areas where high embodied carbon applications are typically used in the acoustic design of a building, and methods of significantly reducing this using third party back laboratory data and LCA information. The presentation will conclude with application examples and case studies.

The talk will be followed by a short Q&A session.

 Speaker bios

Tim Patzke has been working in the acoustic industry for the past three years, focusing on vibration mitigation systems and fitness flooring, with a particular interest in floating floor applications for heavy hard impact scenarios. Pliteq is committed to the research and development of sustainable solutions for the acoustic design of buildings.
