Abstract
Motorsport noise measurement, assessment and control have been central to Ed’s development of CSA’s reputation for specialist consultancy advice. This presentation will cover lessons learned and pitfalls avoided from Ed’s delivery of independent expert consultancy advice, including expert witness testimony in legal proceedings instructed by clients on both sides of the debate. As a demonstrably independent expert, Ed has become a respected figure whose advice is sought by operators, complainants and regulators alike. Case studies include many of the UK’s most prestigious circuits, including Silverstone and Brands Hatch, but also speedway stadia and modest karting venues and motocross tracks. At the end of this talk you may not know everything there is to know about motorsport noise – but you’ll appreciate how much there is to learn!
