The March/April 2020 issue of Acoustics Bulletin will be with members any day now and content includes:
 
A list of international events for 2020 that you might want to visit
A report on the Big Bang Fair,* the UK’s largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people 
Andrew Parkin, partner and global head of acoustics at Cundall, reports on the recent IOA Building Acoustics Group meeting on open plan office acoustics
On page 18, we profile Julien Bonnel, research scientist and winner of the 2019 AB Wood Medal, who has introduced innovative methods that have led to significant advances in ocean acoustics
On page 20, we carry a report on the Reproduced Sound Conference that was organised by IOA’s Electro-Acoustics Group and held last November in Bristol
The Instrumentation Corner feature for this issue is written by Matt Robinson, BSc MIOA, and focuses on effective plans for the management of noise, vibration and dust on construction sites
On page 51 is a technical article by Preena Patel and her colleagues, Morgan Roberts and Ben Cox, about Ultrasound tomography in breast screening. It is a rapidly emerging technology for medical imaging
Stephen Stringer describes the Sound of the Future project at the Royal Albert Hall, on page 56, it was an ambitious undertaking to replace the existing sound system and bring the biggest improvement to sound in the auditorium since the installation of the iconic acoustic ‘mushrooms’ in 1969.
