The AVO Guide is now available

The Acoustics, Ventilation and Overheating Guide is intended to be used by acoustics practitioners as well as all those involved in the planning, development, design and commissioning of new dwellings. It recommends an approach to acoustic assessments for new residential development that take due regard of the interdependence of provisions for acoustics, ventilation, and overheating. Application of the AVO Guide is intended to demonstrate good acoustic design as described in the ProPG: Planning & Noise, May 2017 when considering internal noise level guidelines.

The long-awaited Acoustics, Ventilation & Overheating: Residential Design Guide (“AVO Guide”) has been published.  Come to this workshop to hear about the content of the AVO Guide, and learn how to apply the guidance in practice. This event is aimed at acoustic practitioners who may need to assess or understand the potential impact of noise on residential development – e.g. acoustic consultants and local authority officers. You will leave with an understanding of how to consider the guidance for noise and ventilation, and for noise & mitigating overheating in residential developments.
