New versions of Part F (ventilation) and Part L (conservation of fuel and power) of the Building Regulations have been released for second consultation. A new draft Approved Document titled Overheating has also been published for comment along with a new proposed Home User Guide to be provided to the owners of new dwellings explaining non-technical advice on how to operate and maintain their home in a healthy and energy efficient manner.
The IOA responded to the Future Homes Standard 2019 first consultation on changes to Part F and Part L in February 2020. The documents have now been revised and the Building Acoustics Group (BAG) of the IOA is looking to compile a formal response to the updated versions and the new Approved Document on overheating.
To discuss the changes and next steps, BAG will be running three webinars in early March (dates and times below), open to all IOA members. The sessions will include a short overview of the documents, key changes from the current versions, followed by an open discussion on each topic. The points raised during the webinars will then feed into the IOA’s formal response to the consultation.
