Abstract:
If you’ve ever asked an HSE inspector whether you can use manufacturers’ vibration emission data for risk assessment, you might have been disappointed with the rather vague nature of the reply.
This talk describes a long term HSE vibration research project which reveals some of the reasons why manufacturers' declared vibration emission data may or may not reflect typical in-use magnitudes.
Biography:
Sue Hewitt worked as a research scientist at the HSE’s Science Division for 33 years before leaving to work in a private consultancy. She recently returned to HSE as a Noise and Vibration Specialist Inspector.

As usual, we will be heading to the pub after the talk to catch up and continue the conversation. It would be great to see as many people in person as possible.
