Consultation on changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in England.
The UK Government published a consultation on changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in England in December. This new draft NPFF does not reference the Noise Policy Statement England, which has since its publication in 2010, been the benchmark for including noise in policy. Another omission is that unlike the current NPPF, there is no reference to any requirement for noise mitigation. The IOA Parliamentary Liaison Group are convening a working group to respond to consultation, which is open until March 10th.
