The IOA & ANC have produced a draft of “A good practice guide to the assessment and rating of noise from battery energy storage systems and solar farms” which is now out for consultation.
The document is expected to be of use to all parties involved in the planning process of these schemes, ensuring that an appropriate level of sound assessment is undertaken, the level of risk identified, and appropriate conditions set. Comments are welcomed from developers, planning authorities, plant manufacturers and others engaged in the sector.
Members and interested Stakeholders are requested to review the draft guidance and provide feedback by 20th November 2026 using the Microsoft form.
