A new campaign will encourage rail pasengers to 'share the carriage, not the noise' - with reminders of railway byelaws that restrict noise, and fines of up to £1000. And today, guidance was isued by the Department for Transport for local authorities in England, to support their new powers to crackdown on loud music, and oher anti social behaviour on buses, with a potential £100 fine. To use these powers, brought in in August, local authorities will need apply for a byelaw, which would be enforced by specialist officers or police, not bus drivers.
