In England and Wales, the CIEH Noise Survey is the only source of information on the contribution made by environmental health professionals working to resolve noise complaints.
The survey has been relaunched in a new format.
The results will be published later this year in an anonymised aggregated form.
Data from the survey will also be adopted into the Public Health Outcomes Framework.

The data from the noise survey has previously been adopted into the Public Health Outcomes framework, administered by PHE, which establishes an important link between noise and health outcomes. In order for the noise public health indicator to be established this year, it is important to get a high survey response rate from local authorities.

This year, the survey has been relaunched in a new format to make it easier and quicker for local authorities to complete. Providing some simple data will help CIEH to engage with key government departments to ensure that the links between noise and public health form part of national policy decisions.
