Understanding how people experience sound is central to good acoustic design. Research in subjective acoustics highlights how people perceive and are affected by sound in diverse ways, not only through measurable acoustic parameters but also through the individual, social, and contextual factors that shape our auditory experiences.
This event aims to explore how acoustic environments can better support comfort, wellbeing, and inclusivity. The day will bring together professionals and researchers to share insights on how technical design decisions influence human perception and experience of sound and vice versa.
The talks will primarily focus around the areas of soundscapes, non-acoustic factors and human-centric design, with a selection of talks based on both new research and examples of practical application.
