Neal is a member of UK HCA (Hearing Conservation Association) alongside a long career in noise measurements and hearing protection. He is a BSI/PH 7 Hearing Protectors committee member and responsible for the European Standard EN352 series on hearing protection and British Standard EN 458 ‘Hearing protectors — Recommendations for selection, use, care and maintenance — Guidance document’.

Neal will reflect on his career working in acoustics matters from the perspective of hearing protection and will discuss the changes to standards and assessment methods and the challenges presented by modern noisy workplaces.
