In October 2022, IOA Education was asked to give feedback and suggestions on the pages for Civil and Structural Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
As a result of the efforts of Keith Attenborough and Vicky Wills the updated version of the resource mentions acoustics and acoustically related activities under Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as well as improved descriptions of acoustically related activities on the Civil and Structural Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering pages.
The following is a quote from Engineering UK.
“We are thrilled that so many professional engineering institutions have worked with us to represent the breadth and scope of the engineering sector and the different routes to becoming an engineer, in our new ‘From idea to career’ booklet. Young people, teachers and careers advisers will benefit from discovering the many exciting, critical, future-focused developments in engineering and technology listed in this booklet, which the engineering community has helped bring to life for a young audience.
The opportunities to make a difference to the world presented by the engineering industries featured in ‘From idea to career’ can only ever scratch the surface of the sector as a whole and we therefore continue to develop our suite of careers inspiration resources, with valued input and ongoing support from the wider engineering community and the professional engineering institutions.”
