Strategic Plan

IOA Strategic Plan Current plan and achievements against 2013 -2017 plan 2017

The Institute is a Charitable body and our mission is to promote and advance the art, science and technology of acoustics in all their aspects.  The Strategic Plan sets out how the Institute aims to achieve this mission.  The plan comprises of 6 strategic aims that were agreed in a Strategy Workshop in 2017, these aims are:

 

  1. Influencing the Acoustics Agenda
  2. Developing Tomorrow’s Professionals
  3. Maintaining Professional Standards and Members’ Skills
  4. Delivering Excellent Service to members
  5. Commitment to Public Benefit
  6. To be a catalyst for acoustics research

 

The plan is a dynamic document that is regularly reviewed by Council and owners of specific aims may change as the individuals listed retire from Council and new members are elected.  The plan lists key targets set by Council for that particular year.
