Noise Impact of Model Aircraft - how annoying is it?

Andy Symons -  British Model Flying Association Club Support Officer

Andy will discuss his role with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) and the challenges facing model aircraft flying clubs, in particularly regarding noise and compliance with the Code of Practice. He will also talk about the different types of model aircraft currently in use and the characteristics of the sound they produce. Andy will draw upon his experience as a model aircraft enthusiast and as the main BMFA contact to highlight the key issues that arise from this leisure activity.

He will then follow on with a presentation about the project he completed as part of the IOA Diploma.

The presentation is suitable for those interested in acoustics, but it will also be accessible to anyone with an interest in model aircraft, the work of the BMFA and also current diploma students.

Attendance is free, no need to book, everyone welcome.  CPD certificates can be provided.  If you have any queries please contact j.pritchard@derby.ac.uk .

As is traditional for IOA Midlands Branch meetings those attending are cordially invited for a meal at a suitable restaurant after the meeting.
