We will be hosting an IOA Midlands Branch Event at 18:30 on Wednesday 8th March 2024, led by Toby Lewis. Following the presentation we will hold our AGM.
This is a hybrid meeting but as this will be our AGM, it would be great to have as many in person attendees as possible.
About the talk: The presentation will summarise the existing methods for assessing wind farm noise, explain the findings of the recent guidance review which WSP undertook for the Government and describe if, how and when the guidance might be updated.
About the speaker: Toby Lewis joined WSP in 2015 after 23 years working in environmental health and part-time consultancy. His local authority work was focused in an area of Cambridgeshire that became known as wind farm alley, due to the rapid growth of the sector between the mid-nineties the end of Government subsidies in 2016. Frequently caught between developers, politicians, and objectors he became expert in the technical and legal aspects of noise assessment and the arts of diversion and making a quick getaway.
He was the local authority reviewer for the 2013 IOA Good Practice on wind farm noise and has since published work on wind turbine noise regulation, planning, nuisance, entertainment noise and industrial noise. He is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner and a Fellow of the IoA.
This meeting is open to members and non-members and is free to attend.
