An assessment of the effects of noise and vibration from onshore ground investigations and load testing on Seahorses in the Blackwater Estuary

The IOA Early Careers Group invites you to a presentation about the effects of noise and vibration from onshore ground investigations and load testing on Seahorses by Josh Wilson, Senior Engineer at WSP. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

A planning application for proposed ground investigation and load testing investigations at the Bradwell B Nuclear power station site was refused. The refusal was due to an 'inadequate' submission of the effects of noise and vibration from the proposed works on the local Seahorse population around the Dengie Peninsula. Josh was subsequently tasked with undertaking a technical study with the available information and gave evidence at the public hearing on his findings. Josh will be delivering a presentation to the Early Careers Group of his assessment approach, the challenges of undertaking a robust assessment with minimal information, and the subsequent successful outcomes.

Zoom details will be emailed to everyone registered before the meeting.

This meeting is open to all members and non members. CPD will be provided.
