About the Talk
Pure tone audiometry has existed as a test for over 150 years and is the most commonly used diagnostic test in the audiological clinic. First, we consider its utility in audiological care and the limitations and challenges to this test. Then we consider possible developments in the methodology as the British Society of Audiology begins its major review of the BSA PTA guidelines.
About the Speaker:
Siobhán Brennan is currently an Audiology Lecturer at Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness, University of Manchester UK and a Lead Clinical Scientist at the Regional Department of Neurotology, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals UK. Siobhán is also current chair of the British Society of Audiology. Siobhán specialises in the audiological care of individuals with intellectual disabilities and auditory electrophysiology.
