Shaping the Future of BS8233 – One‑Day Collaborative Workshop
The Building Acoustics Group of the Institute of Acoustics invites acoustics professionals, researchers, and practitioners to join a one‑day interactive workshop dedicated to shaping the future direction of BS8233. With the Draft for Public Consultation anticipated this June, this event offers a timely opportunity for the community to come together, examine emerging proposals, and contribute to the evolution of one of the sector’s most influential standards.
About the Workshop
This collaborative event will bring together specialists from across the acoustics community to explore key areas of building acoustics and discuss potential methodologies, refinements, and innovations. Alongside themed presentations, the day will also feature facilitated discussion workshops, giving attendees the opportunity to debate ideas, share experiences, and shape collective recommendations for the future of BS8233.
Focus Areas
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with three core themes central to the upcoming revision:
These sessions will include presentations offering case studies, methodological alternatives, research insights, and practical reflections relevant to the draft standard.
