Proposals for the next regime for night flights, for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports have been set out by The Department for Transport. A consultation sets out to confirm a decision on a night-time noise abatement objective for the three airports, following a consultation undertaken in Spring 2023. Following analysis of responses, it is proposed that the night-time noise abatement objective for the next regime should be "To limit and where possible reduce, the adverse effects of aviation noise at night on health and quality of life, while supporting sustainable growth and recognising the importance to the UK of commercial passenger and freight services." Further details on the night time noise objective are in the consutation document. The next night flight regime is due to commence in October 2025.
