The government have issued a consultation on draft updates to National Planning Policy statements covering energy - EN-1: Overarching National Policy Statement for energy; EN-3: National Policy Statement for renewable energy infrastructure and EN-5: National Policy Statement for electricity networks infrastructure. These reforms cover England and Wales, and are part of ongoing reforms to reflect government priorities set out in their Clean Power mission, which sets out a pathway to clean power by 2030. Onshore wind, offshore wind and electricity infrastructure are flagged as a key policy areas, with questions relating to these. The consideration of potential noise and vibration impacts of onshore wind are included in EN-3.
The consultation is open until May 29th.
