The Institute of Acoustics has responded to the Civil Aviation Authority’s call for evidence on Consumer Environmental Information (CAP 2395), which sought views on what environmental information should be provided to people when they are looking for and booking flights, to enable them to make informed choices about travel options.  Introducing the consultation, paragraph 1.2 states  “One of the other environmental impacts of aviation is noise, particularly during take-off and landing. This Call for Evidence does not focus on aviation noise, but the CAA has expertise and functions on aviation noise which are set out on our website”. IOA has responded to the consultation noting the absence of noise data in the environmental information currently generally provided to consumers, and has advocated that information on noise should be included.  This follows on from our response to the 2021 Jet Zero consultation where we also advocated the inclusion of noise.
