A review of reporting for workplace injury asks if work related hearing loss should be a reportable injury
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are now reviewing the RIDDOR (The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013) regulations. In a revised list of reportable occupuational diseases, noise induced hearing loss is included for the first time. The consultation asks to what degree respondents agree or disagree with this (and other conditions) being included.
The consultation is open until June 30th

If introduced, this is likely to have an impact on the level of demand for workplace noise reviews and hearing testing. The consultation will also ask about what criteria for the level at which it should be reported.
