The IOA has published a new guide to the services provided by its members as part of the celebrations to mark its 40th anniversary this year. Entitled The Sound of Science, the 24-page booklet describes the areas covered by the Institute's nine specialist groups: building acoustics, electro-acoustics, environmental noise, measurement and instrumentation, noise and vibration engineering, musical acoustics, physical acoustics, speech and hearing, and underwater acoustics. Bridget Shield, IOA President, said: "Each of these snapshots underlines why acousticians make such a vital contribution to the world we inhabit in so many ways. We hope people will enjoy this introduction to the fascinating world of acoustics and that it will help give them a better understanding of why acoustics is so important to us all." The guide can be seen below.
