We are Institute of Acoustics, the UK’s professional body for those
working in disciplines related to acoustics, noise, sound and vibration.
We have some 3000 members from a rich diversity of backgrounds.
Engineers, academics, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational
hygienists, architects and environmental health officers all find a place
within our community.

We are excited to let you know about our initiative in creating a
student representative position. This is in response to our recognition
of the valuable and enthusiastic contributions those studying
acoustics related subjects already bring to our Institute and reflects
our wish even more so to harness that resource.

This is a note to let you know about this great opportunity for you to get
involved in our organisation and help us make a difference to the way
we engage with our student members. We have a great team of
enthusiastic student and early career members who will be happy to
help you get involved and get the most out of taking up this role.

We are a charity which seeks to promote the understanding of
acoustics and use our knowledge and expertise to influence standards,
guidance and good practice for the benefit of the wider community.
