Every year the IOA honours people whose contributions to acoustics or to the Institute have been particularly noteworthy. The medals and awards programme has evolved over the years and now ranges in its acknowledgement of academic achievement, practical engineering applications and contributions to the Institute and to the world of science and technology.
The 2025 awards ceremony took place on Thursday 8 May at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, and was opened by Immediate Past President Alistair Somerville.
