A new report examines conclusions from the Marine Management Organisation’s (MMO) Strategic Renewables Unit’s (SRU) project to progress the implementation of post-consent monitoring standards for offshore wind farms in English waters, for receptors where agreed standards already exist and where standardisation would be appropriate. Underwater noise was identified as one of the six criteria best suited to standardised monitoring. The project team reviewed the many publications identifying best practice in collecting and reporting offshore wind monitoring data - other environmental receptors chosen were marine mammals, seabirds, benthic habitats, fish and shellfish and geophysical surveys.
