As we head towards the end of 2024, it’s a good time to reflect on the progress that has been made on Project Reverb, which is the IOA STEM Committee’s project to:

  1. Revisit and refresh our materials
  2. Come up with one (or more) new teacher resource
  3. Bring people together to do STEM
  4. Inspire more young people into careers in acoustics
  5. Celebrate how amazing we are as an industry

The teams have been working away in the background, to develop an activity promoting acoustics in schools during British Science Week in March 2025, to promote the work that is being done, to encourage more volunteers to join the scheme, and to provide training on carrying out these activities.

We were lucky enough to have a training session run by the STEM Ambassadors team in November, which will help volunteers develop their skills working in schools and build confidence in presenting the Project Reverb activity when the time comes.

It’s still not too late to sign up as a school or project volunteer, so if you are interested, we would be grateful if you (and your colleagues) could get in touch via the form. https://forms.office.com/e/6srgdQm3sg
