Promoting women in acoustics using animation in the Diploma for Acoustics and Noise Control

As part of the IOA's blended learning programme for the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, the IOA created a female acoustician character to explain parts of the learning material.

Thanks goes to IOA Council Member Vicky Stewart, who has lent her voice to bringing the character to life.

By making sure we portray both a male and female character when explaining fundamental acoustics principles, the IOA ensures that the profession is not perceived as being unduly male biased.

The Diploma programme is available via Distance Learning and students are enrolled from all around the world.  Our annual programme commences in October of each year, and students can either join via a learning centre or directly with the Institute.
