IOA advocate the inclusion of information on aviation noise data in environmental information provided to consumers
The Civil Aviation Authority recently consulted on draft principles for consumer environmental information on aviation.
This consultation followed a call for evidence in early 2023.
IOA responded to the call for evidence, noting the absence of noise data.
The published summary of responses stated: "There were several comments on the impact on public health of noise emissions from aviation (in answer to this and other questions) and recommendations that information about noise should also be considered for inclusion."
This second consultation still only covers 'environmental information' on CO2.
IOA's response to the second consultation asked why noise is excluded.
IOA's response inquired "what arrangements will be put in place to capture noise emission information?".
The document title is "CAA Environmental information - IOA response".

The Civil Aviation Authority recently consulted on draft principles for consumer environmental information on aviation, this followed on from a call for evidence in early 2023. IOA responded to this call noting the absence of noise data in the environmental information currently generally provided to consumers, and advocated the inclusion of information on noise. The published summary of responses stated "There were several comments on the impact on public health of noise emissions from aviation (in answer to this and other questions) and recommendations that information about noise should also be considered for inclusion." However, this second consultation still only covers 'environmental information' on CO2, which is disappointing. In responding we have asked, given it appears noise continues to be excluded from this reported environmental information, what arrangements will be put in place to capture noise emission information?
