Passing of Geoff Kerry, former President of the IOA It is with regret that we have been told of the passing of Geoff Kerry. A stalwart of the Institute, Geoff was one of the founding members, a former President as well serving as Honorary Treasurer and as Vice President Groups and Branches. He was a highly respected authority on acoustics with an illustrious career spanning over 60 years. He will be well known to many members both through his work for the Institute and at the Acoustics Department at Salford University. Read more

Wales: New road traffic and railway noise maps New road traffic and railway noise maps for Wales have been published. For the first time the new maps cover all roads and railways, and indicate average sound levels over day/evening and night time. This mapping, carried out in 2022, is not comparable to any noise maps generated previously, as it uses new noise mapping methods introduced and transposed into UK law prior to leaving the European Union.
